Over the past year, educational fundraising campaigns have been thrown into chaos. Factors from social distancing, to an upended economy, to general uncertainty and fear, have not only directly impacted campaigns, but they have exposed shortcomings in many fundraising processes and programs.
As we head into 2021, and hopefully out of this “dystopia”, now is the time to look back on what we can do differently - and better - to ensure our campaigns are not thrown into a state of chaos whenever circumstances change, And it is also a time to look at what may be forever changed, and how we can harness innovation to improve campaign effectiveness in the future.

Parker Subia is Assistant Director for Student and Young Alumni Philanthropy at the Kenyon College Office of Advancement. In this role, is responsible for running the phonathon program at Kenyon College and making sure that the program meets its fundraising goals.
Lucy Thomas is a Sales Agent with VanillaSoft. She is the former Assistant Director of Annual Giving at St. Mary’s College in Indiana, where she oversaw the telephone annual giving program.
Gregg Carlson is the Founder & President of Carlson Fundraising, and a master of the art and science of successful fundraising, has over 30 years of experience providing integrated fundraising solutions to customers. He is the former Chair of the Giving USA Foundation, the definitive source on trends in US fundraising. He began his career at CCS Fundraising, which specialized in major gift counseling.
Bergen Wilde began his sales career with the family flower business, moved briefly into federal politics as a campaign manager, and then returned to sales...this time to software sales. Loving the energy in smaller companies, Bergen joined a colleague’s start-up document management firm in a sales and marketing role where he discovered his true calling – product marketing. After 18 years in sales, Bergen now leverages his experience as the Head of Product Marketing for VanillaSoft.
